Romantic Walks in North Wales: Lakes, Hills and Coast Paths for Two

Romantic walks in North Wales do not have to be long or steep. Some of the most beautiful are gentle loops around a lake or a short climb to a view, where the conversation matters more than the distance.

I'm Leon, an accredited celebrant and photographer based in Llandudno. These are the walks I love for couples, from Eryri to the coast and the north-east.

Llyn Crafnant Above Trefriw

Hills reflected in a still lake on a calm day

A quiet lake tucked into the hills above the Conwy Valley, with a path that circles the water and views back along the valley. It feels hidden even on a sunny day.

Aber Falls

A gentle walk up a valley to a tall waterfall pouring off the hillside. It is lovely after rain, when the falls are at their fullest.

Conwy Mountain

Above Conwy, the paths lead to wide views of the estuary, the castle, the Great Orme and Anglesey. Go in the evening for softer light.

Moel Famau in the Clwydian Range

The track to the Jubilee Tower gives a view across the Vale of Clwyd and, on a clear day, much further. It is a classic for a reason.

The Llŷn Coast Path

Choose a stretch near Porthdinllaen or Aberdaron and follow the cliffs, with the sea on one side and fields on the other.

Walk Safely and Kindly

Check the Met Office mountain forecast for higher routes, wear proper footwear and follow the Countryside Code.

When a Walk Becomes a Moment

A favourite path can become the place you propose with Where Two Bloom, marry with Elope with Leon or return to for an anniversary with Twilight Ceremonies. You can also choose anywhere: your home or garden, elsewhere in the UK or abroad.

The best walks are the ones you will want to take again, year after year. Look at coastal and mountain settings for couples, then plan your experience around the path you love.
